Dr Thomas Dewhurst, MBBCh MRCPsych

Tom is a consultant psychiatrist and psychotherapist for the NHS in South London, and an amateur singer and guitarist.  He first became aware of Song in the City back in 2014 when his friend James Andrewes contributed one of his compositions to 'Creative Madness in Song', an ambitious project empowering mental health service users to create music.  The following year Tom commissioned a small SITC team to perform songs for the Royal College of Psychiatrists.  He is especially interested in how music can connect to people from all walks of life and convey them to another realm, which can be especially healing for the patients he works with.  Tom is a Trustee on the board and especially interested in supporting the 'Creative Minds in Song' series.
